This four-layer piece of art pairs a fluffy vanilla cake with a decadent almond buttercream filling, finished in a final coat of Swiss buttercream.

The concrete look comes from a very lightly tinted grey Swiss buttercream, temperature and agitation: once the cake is almost frozen, layers of buttercream are scraped off very gradually. Agitating the frozen buttercream darkens it in places, creating the cement effect. Then come the brushstrokes, in two colors you choose.
